The Arc of Chemung Welcomes Peter Leidy

Mark your calendars for August 15, 2019. Why? So, you can have the opportunity to listen, learn and participate in a presentation by renowned speaker and consultant Peter Leidy. Mr. Leidy has been learning from people with disabilities since 1983, having served in many capacities in the human services field, including direct support, service coordination, recruiting and supporting direct support professionals, community building as well as administrative responsibilities. Mr. Leidy also writes and sings songs about the human service field and those who find themselves connected to it.

Mr. Leidy will be presenting two half-day sessions at the Elmira Country Club. The first session will be 9 am – 12 noon, with a duplicate session being offered from 1 pm – 4 pm. The focus of his presentation will be on how to provide individualized quality supports that emphasizes the concept of G.E.M. or “Good Enough for Me.”

This presentation will reinforce the importance of advocating and not just settling or accepting “second-best” for those we support.

Registration is limited to 100 staff members per session, please note that all supervisory staff members are being required to attend one of the sessions.
